Introduction: Cholestatic liver disease (CLD) is associated with intestinal barrier dysfunction. The peptide hormone ghrelin may exert both hepatoprotective and barrierstrengthening effects. Here, we have evaluated these effects under the conditions of experimental cholestasis.
